Rapid OnSite
A standalone, semi-integrated cloud application that can provide APIs to the POS to communicate with various payment terminals, forecourt technologies and mobile payment platforms.
Rapid Cloud ETS (Electronic Transaction Server, aka Electronic Payment Server/EPS) & Rapid OnSite
In traditional payment processing, the host applications (EPS) are written within the POS or forecourt controller (“FCC”), where clear data flows from pump to EPS/POS to the payment host in a VPN tunnel. This architecture makes it difficult to implement improvements and bug fixes, as well as to keep up with industry changes.
Rapid Cloud ETS/EPS for petro is designed to increase data security and make it simple and seamless keep payment technologies up to date. By shifting the EPS and communication to the payments host to the cloud, and by focusing on all manner of transactions, not just payments (i.e. loyalty, gift card, scan data initiatives, bitcoin, etc.), Rapid’s Cloud ETS (Electronic Transaction Server) provides flexibility to use single or mix-and-match brands of payment terminal, POS and forecourt controller, loyalty and gift card hosts, etc. – something no EPS in the market can do today.
In fact, the current industry trend is that each major POS and fuel dispenser company in the industry is working on embedding a proprietary EPS within their own hardware and platform, making it very difficult for retailers to centrally manage – and change – their payments solutions.
